Photography & AI Image Enhancement Policy

At Crown & Co., transparency and customer confidence are extremely important to us.

We understand that when purchasing a timepiece online, customers rely heavily on photographs and videos to understand exactly what they are purchasing. We do not want our customers to feel misled by the use of artificial intelligence or digital image enhancement.

For this reason, we have created this Photography & AI Image Enhancement Policy to clearly explain where AI may be used, how it is used, and, importantly, where it will not be used.

Our Commitment to Transparency

We use modern photography and editing technology because we want our website to provide a professional and consistent experience.

However, presentation should never come at the expense of transparency.

That is why we openly disclose our use of AI-assisted image enhancement and maintain a clear separation between enhanced marketing imagery and the unenhanced photographs and videos supplied directly to customers for inspection.

Our goal is simple: you should know what you are purchasing and have the opportunity to see the actual timepiece before it is dispatched.

If you would like additional information or imagery of a particular timepiece, please contact our Concierge Team, who will be happy to assist.

Our Use of AI-Enhanced Photography

Physical Studio Photography

Some photographs displayed on our website, social media or other marketing materials may be professionally edited or enhanced using traditional editing software and/or AI-assisted tools.

These tools are primarily used to improve the presentation and consistency of our photography.

Enhancements may include changes to:

  • Backgrounds and surrounding environments

  • Lighting, exposure and contrast

  • Image sharpness and clarity

  • Colour balance

  • Gloves, stands and other presentation elements

  • Positioning or presentation of packaging and accessories

  • Removal of unrelated objects or distractions

The purpose of these enhancements is to create a consistent, professional presentation across Crown & Co.—not to misrepresent the watch being offered.

We Do Not Intend to Mislead Our Customers

We believe customers should be able to make informed purchasing decisions with confidence.

AI enhancement is therefore not intended to change or misrepresent the identity, specification, materials, features or condition of a timepiece.

We do not intentionally use AI enhancement to conceal material scratches, dents, chips, cracks, damage, significant wear or other defects that could reasonably influence a customer's purchasing decision.

The reason we have published this policy is simple: we want to be completely transparent about our use of AI and ensure customers understand the difference between enhanced presentation photography and the actual watch they will receive.

Customer Photos & Videos — No AI Enhancement

This is an important distinction.

Any photographs or videos sent directly to a customer for the purpose of inspecting, reviewing or approving their actual timepiece will not use AI enhancement.

Before dispatch, where we provide a customer with photographs or video footage of their watch, these will show the actual physical timepiece and will not be AI-generated or AI-enhanced.

We will not use AI to alter the watch's:

condition, dial, bezel, case, bracelet, strap, colour, finishing, markings, accessories or other physical characteristics in customer inspection photographs or videos.

This gives customers the opportunity to see their actual timepiece before it is dispatched rather than relying solely on professionally presented website imagery.

Website Images vs. Customer Inspection Images

Customers should therefore be aware of the distinction between:

Website & Marketing Photography
May be digitally edited or AI-enhanced for presentation, consistency and marketing purposes.

Direct Customer Photos & Videos
Will show the actual timepiece and will not be AI-generated or AI-enhanced.

Where appropriate, customers should use the direct inspection photographs/video alongside the product specification and information supplied by Crown & Co. when reviewing their timepiece.

Product Condition & Accuracy

We take reasonable care to ensure that our product descriptions and imagery provide customers with an accurate understanding of the products we offer.

However, differences in studio lighting, reflections, photography equipment, image processing and individual screen settings can cause colours, finishes and textures to appear slightly different in photographs.

If you are uncertain about any aspect of a timepiece, we encourage you to contact us before completing your purchase.

Packaging & Accessories

Boxes, cards, tags, booklets, straps and other accessories shown within website or marketing imagery should not automatically be assumed to be included unless stated within the relevant product description.

Where AI or digital editing has been used to improve the presentation of packaging or accessories, this does not necessarily represent the exact arrangement in which your order will be delivered.

Your order confirmation or product description should be referred to for details of what is included.
